Travelin' Storband is participating for the first time at the Global Gathering Festival, where it will present an exciting and varied program in collaboration with several talented musicians. A unique aspect of the big band is that it includes young musicians from the music program at Jessheim High School, adding fresh energy and new perspectives to the band’s performances.
The Global Gathering Choir, formed especially for this festival, is led by Michele Gabathuler. The choir is distinguished by lead singer Fabian Byeto. Fabian, who resides in Jessheim but originates from Congo, adds# his rich musical heritage to the choir's performance.
Furthermore, Travelin' Storband is thrilled to collaborate with Sidiki Camara, a renowned Spellemann Award winner. Sidiki Camara is known for his exceptional ability to blend traditional West African rhythms with modern musical elements, making him a sought-after musician on the international scene. His participation is expected to add an extra dimension of rhythm and depth to the big band's dynamic performance.
This ensemble of young talents and experienced musicians promises a memorable and inspiring musical experience, setting a high standard for cultural diversity and new musical collaborations at the Global Gathering Festival.
This concert is mainly inspired by traditional music from Tanzania. The music is characterized by catchy rhythms, beautiful melodies, and a varied expression. It combines elements of work songs, friendly tributes, and beautiful atmospheric melodies, allowing the musicians to express both energy and emotions through songs and instruments.
